The Brief
Our clients wished for a new space that made room for a dining table at which they could sit and enjoy views of the garden.
The Design
The previous kitchen layout included an island which was to be removed to make space for the dining area. Items that would have been stored in the island needed to find new homes.
To overcome the storage challenge full height cupboards were utilised where possible. In addition, by opting for the Bora Pura downdraft hob with incorporated extractor, the whole of the wall where a traditional extractor would be located, was instead available for storage.
On the opposite wall we included an appliance and storage arrangement. A roller shutter ‘garage’, is home to small appliances, powered and ready for use. Alongside, the Miele wine fridge is perfectly placed for easy access when our clients are entertaining.
The colour combination of bulthaup Alpine White and Platinum, helps bring natural light into the depth of the room, even on an overcast day.
A bespoke dresser cabinet, created using the same bulthaup furniture as the kitchen, hides away TV equipment. Connections have been chased into the wall behind giving a clean, uncluttered appearance.
DETAILS
The light stone worktop continues across the wall behind the sink run creating a beautful and easy to clean backsplash.
Further convenient storage is provided by a full-height larder with pull-out drawers.
