Who Owns Bulthaup?

Bulthaup is a privately held company and it is owned by the Bulthaup family. The company was founded by Martin Bulthaup in 1949 in Germany and since then it has been passed on to his son, Gerd, and now his grandson, Marc.

The company ethos and reputation have never changed; a sustained desire for the very finest quality and design craftsmanship.

In the 1980s, Gerd Bulthaup, Martin’s son, was CEO. He pioneered the research and development collaboration between Bulthaup and renowned 20th Century designer, Otl Aicher. The project sparked ideas that revolutionised the kitchen into the ergonomic, multi-functional spaces we enjoy today.

Today, Bulthaup is owned and run by CEO, Marc O. Eckert, the grandson of Martin Bulthaup. Based in Aich, the Bulthaup factory employs approximately 400 people across Production and Administration.

At the time of writing, the Bulthaup factory in Lower Bavaria produces over 10,000 kitchens a year, which are distributed all over the world.

Marc has been running the company for many years and has overseen the successful launch and development of bulthaup b3, b2 and b1 kitchens alongside bulthaup b Solitaire furniture.
