Evening at SEASON Cookery School

On Tuesday 20th September, we took a group of invited guests to SEASON cookery school, Lainston House to enjoy an evening of gourmet burger making. The event was created to introduce Hobson's Choice and our kitchen / bathroom design and installation services to property sector professionals in the Hampshire area including leading estate agents, property developers and builders.

The ‘Gourmet Burger Workshop’ began with a drinks reception and introductions from Hobson’s Choice staff including Richard Carter – MD, Clive Hathaway – Project Director, Graham Craig – Marketing and Pieter du Toit – Design Consultant.

After becoming acquainted with the Grade II Listed Wheelhouse, the home of SEASON, guests were invited to enter the cookery school. Stepping gingerly over the glass-topped 55m well shaft, attendees entered the bulthaup cooking area, designed and installed by Hobson's Choice.

Andy MacKenzie, SEASON Cookery School Chef, talked the group through the process of crafting the perfect ‘gourmet burger’ before setting them free on the bulthaup b1 kitchen workstations.

The delicious smells of coarsely ground beef burgers searing on the Gaggenau induction cooktops were enough to make the mouth water. Once the patties had reached the magic internal temperature of 75℃ it was time to toast the buns and build the burgers.

Guests relocated to SEASON’s stylish dining area, adding triple cooked chips and onion rings to their plates on the way, and took a bar seat at the long table. It was evident that the burgers tasted as good as they looked from how quiet everyone was as they began eating. The cooking/dining experience gave common ground to talk about and ensured friendly conversation flowed throughout the remainder of the evening.
